Windows 10: USB drive on Desktop

Discus and support USB drive on Desktop in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; Why does W10 File Explorer list a USB 3.0 flash drive on the Desktop?     USB drive on Desktop


    Why does W10 File Explorer list a USB 3.0 flash drive on the Desktop? No other USB device or standard drive is there.

    Win 7 didn't include the stick on the Desktop. Don't recall seeing it there in 8/8.1 either.
    This flash drive appeared in those systems only under the usual MY COMPUTER (This PC) listings.

    Desktop hard drive as external USB drive.

    I have a 320GB western digital desktop hard drive that was give to me by a friend, and I would like to use it as an external drive. I have a USB external drive enclosure, but it will not run a desktop drive, only the 2.5 laptop drives. what would I need
    to run a desktop drive for USB external drive?

    duplicate usb drives in windows 10 file explorer

    Similar problem: USB flash drive shows in This PC (in expected alphabetical order), but also shows at same hierarchical level as This PC.

    In addition my Bitcasa drive also shows the same way, so under Desktop I have One Drive, This PC (which includes as sub-folders USB drive and Bitcasa), Libraries, USB flash drive, Bitcasa Drive, Network, etc.

    I cannot find an option to delete the removable disk entries from the desktop.

    Any ideas?

    USB drive on Desktop

    My USB 3 appears here and also under "This PC" when it's expanded, never seen it on the actual desktop. Strange.

    Exactly. File Manager alone is where the oddity appears...or so it appears. ^_^
