Windows 10: unlike ofther windows 10 updates why "Microsoft Office File Validation Add-in" will show a...

I have windows 10 home edition + Office 2007 which i newly install it. now inside windows update i got the following updates:-but if i click on next i will get this license agreement:-so is this normal as usually when installing windows and office updates we do not get such messages..Thanks

Microsoft Office File Validation Add-in


This may be the ultimate deal breaker‏ for me.

I have successfully blocked Microsoft Office File Validation Add-in for about 5 years on XP, Vista, and Windows 7. It is an update that makes loading and saving Office 2003, or Office 2007, files take at least 10 times longer than without it, and often much more. It is agonizingly slow. I assume the delay is based on the size of the file, since they claim they are scanning for stuff other than legal Office information. I also wonder if it isn't kind of a penalty to try to get you to update to a newer version of Office in disguise as a security feature.

Windows 10, of course, has applied it under their forced automatic-update rules. If you select "Uninstall Updates", on the listing of successful updates, you get a list of many updates which have been applied. (Most of which are not listed on the previous page's list of installed updates. ??????) That particular update, however, is not listed even though it shows on the previous page.

In searching for any related posts, I see that there is an equivalent for Office 2010, so unless they made great improvements in the processing, a lot of other people are having degraded file activity on Office products as well. That is, unless they are used to it because they hadn't blocked the update in their previous OS.

If I have to put up with such degraded performance from my Office products I may just revert to Windows 7.

Edit: I am assuming this is because I had the option to get updates for other Microsoft products checked. (Fortunately I had not done that on my other two computers.) Does anyone know how to remove that update. Rolling back the system is a no-go because that update was installed 4 days ago, days in which I installed software and made many configuration changes to the computer.

 

Microsoft Office 2019 Will Run on Windows 10, and Only Windows 10

As reported yesterday, Microsoft changed the way how they license Windows 10 to their OEM partners. But buckle in folks, the changes just keep on coming. In what looks like an effort to push Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 owners to upgrade, Microsoft has officially announced that Office 2019 will only work on machines with Windows 10 and the next LTSC release of Windows Server. That's only the tip of the iceberg though. Unlike previous version of Office that came with 10 years of support, Office 2019's support lifecycle is shortened to five years of mainstream support and two years of extended support. Additionally, the client applications are only available with a Click-to-Run installer. However, Microsoft will continue to provide a MSI installer for the server applications.

 

Win 10 - Blocking Office File Validation from update - help

Hey all,

I'm trying to block the "Microsoft Office File validation Add-In" from my windows update list so I can install other updates and not it.

I tried using the show or hide updates troubleshooter that Microsoft released and hid the Add-In. However it still shows up in my windows update list and still asks me about installing it when I try to install the other stuff.

How can I remove it from my update list so I can install other things and not it?
