Windows 10: Unable to Receive PIN Reset Email on Windows 11 – Account Locked

Hello,I’m experiencing a problem with signing into my Windows 11 computer. After several failed facial recognition attempts, I was prompted to enter my PIN. Since I didn’t remember it, I clicked “I forgot my PIN.” The system informed me that a recovery code was sent to my Outlook email address the one associated with my Microsoft account.However, I never received any such email — not in my inbox, spam, or any other folder — despite multiple attempts. I’ve confirmed that my Outlook account is working properly receiving and sending emails, and I was able to sign in to my Microsoft account us

Windows 11, not receiving SMS code to reset PIN.

Hello,

I am using an ROG Ally Z1 Extreme with Windows 11. After a reboot (before which I was successfully logged in), I get an error stating:

"Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again"

After proceeding through the setup steps, I do not receive the SMS with the verification code.

I am 100% sure the phone number I am entering is correct.

I have a good wifi connection on the device

I have no settings on my phone blocking or filtering the messages, and have checked my spam folder.

I tried from a browser on another device (the same phone with the number registered to my MS account)

I am unable to contact MS support because I cannot receive the verification code.

My MS account is registered to a gmail email address, but I am not given the option to send the code to this email address.

Account Recovery process fails because when I try to add a phone number or email address, it says that they are already registered to my account

 

Unauthorized Emails from my account?

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.

 

Windows 11 needs PIN - lost PIN & Password - Help!

To reset a forgotten PIN code, please complete these steps: (Require your phone number.)

Step 1: On the Windows 11 login screen, click “I forgot my PIN” under the PIN password box.

Step 2: Enter your user account password and then click “Sign in”.

Step 3: you need to verify your identity, choose a way to receive code and continue.

Step 4: If you choose your phone number, enter the last 4 digits of the phone number. Then click “Send code”.

Step 5: You will receive a code in seconds. Type in your received code and then click “Verify”.

Step 6: Select “Continue”.

Step 7: Type in a new PIN and type it again to confirm. Then click “OK”. The new PIN password is working now.
