Unable to "Optimise this folder for" eg. Videos?

The function "Optimise this folder for" eg: Videos does not work. Properties of folder and subfolders of are not changed, they stay default: General items.Resetting folder, restore default does not work. Workaround is to manually change the "view" of each folder eg: from List to Large Icons. Edition Windows 11 Home Version 21H2 Installed on ‎18/‎01/‎2022 OS build 22000.469 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.469.0

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name

    Suggestion:
    1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
    2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
    3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
    4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.

  3. 'Optimise Folder For,,,' in File Properties changes by magic

Using Windows 10, and 2 (WD My Book) external storage. One I use for only music files (with certain 'Optimise Folder For-'), and the 2nd storage for Movies, Videos, Photos and Documents (with a mix of 'Optimise Folder For-'). How do I stop my PC changing
my Choice of 'Optimise Folder For-' every time I start my PC. Despite several different attempts, my files continue to change at random in which sort of file they are saved as.

  4. Unable to "Optimise this folder for" eg. Videos?

Moved a folder from another drive and rename and it still shows as the old folder name in certain places

    Hi Nick,

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check the behavior.

    • Create a new folder name it as 'My Videos'.
    • Now copy/cut and paste the contents which are in the folder "Videos", and delete the folder "Videos".
    • Now check the behavior.
Please keep us updated with the status of the folder, to assist you further.

    Regards,
