Windows 10: unable to install printer

I have a Dymo LabelWriter 450, installed the software, and when I print I get the message "printer not connected". I spent a while on the phone with Dymo support and he took over my computer to troubleshoot. He was not able to install the printer and told me to contact Microsoft. The computer is recognizing the printer, it is connected via USB, but still in "Unspecified Devices".
