Windows 10: Unable to install Garmin Express on personal PC running Windows 11 Pro

I have a relatively new Windows 11 PC. While I'm not a fan of Windows 11, there are 2 issues which may push me toward abandoning this PC.I am unable to install Garmin Express. I downloaded the latest version of the software. I have to right-click on the download and the only option which will give me *any* action is "Run as Administrator." That brings up a pop-up window where I choose again to install. Then nothing else happens. Nothing. The box disappears and no further action occurs. I check in the Task Manager and nothing Garmin-related is running. The PC recognizes the Garmin device so t

Garmin Express will not update

While attempting to update my Garmin GPS maps, the Garmin Express app that facilitates the installation states that an update to the app is required. When I try to update it, I continually get the message, "Install failed. Garmin Express could not be installed on this computer. Try again."

I have tried all the steps on Garmin's website and went to the MS Support website where it recommended downloading and running "The Program Install and Uninstall” troubleshooter, but I am unable to download it because it is blocked as, “This type of file may harm your computer.” I am not sure if this is the first time I have attempted to update these files since installing Windows 11 or not, but I had no problems with Windows 10.

Just to confirm: Are you trying to uninstall from Control Panel>Icon View>Programs and Features and not All Apps list?

Sometimes if a program will not uninstall, you can try reinstalling it anyway to see if it will overwrite the old copy and is now stable, and if not whether it will then allow you to uninstall it.

If this fails type services.msc in Start Search box, right click Services app to Run as Admin, look for a Garmin Service to Stop and Disable. Then try the uninstall or reinstall again.

Garmin express not getting installed!!!

Could you please help me with the below questions:

• Is it a personal computer or domain computer?
  
• What is the exact error message you receive?
  

While installing some applications on the computer you are instructed to "log on as administrator”. The system should have an administrator account in order to proceed. An administrator has the right to modify anything on a computer.
This can be fixed by enabling the hidden admin account.

I would suggest you to follow the steps given below:

1. Tap on the Windows key
   on your keyboard.
   
2. Type: command prompt
   
3. In the search results list, right-click
   Command Prompt, and then click
   Run as Administrator.
   
4. When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
   
5. At the command prompt, copy and paste the command:
   net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter. (To disable hidden admin, type:
   net user administrator /active:no and hit enter.)
   
6. Type: Exit and hit enter.
   
7. Now sign out from the current user account and login to Admin account from the login screen.
   

Now install the Garmin express application. Once the installation is complete, make sure you log off from the hidden admin account and disable it from the old user account using the above steps.
