Windows 10: Unable To Eject External USB Hard Drive After Feature Update To Windows 11 Version 24H2

Since installing the Feature Update To Windows 11 Version 24H2 via Windows Update, I can no longer eject my external usb hard drive. I get the message "Windows can't stop your 'Volume' device because a program is still using it. Close any programs that might be using the device and then try again later." The problem is that no program is using the device so the only way is to shut down the PC and then unplug the device and then restart the PC. This never happened before I installed the Feature Update To Windows 11 Version 24H2. I use my external usb hard drive as a security copy of all m

Windows 10 Eject Button Missing for external hard drive

Why would, of all things, the eject button of a mounted external hard drive go missing? That's a Windows operating system for you. I'm using Explorer and right-clicking over the drive letter - but, no listing for ejecting the drive. Anyway, before I just rip out the USB cable of my external hard drive - is there a reasonable solution (that's under 25 nebulous steps) to just EJECT a freakin' hard drive plugged into Windows 10? Is it really necessary for every little thing in Windows to turn into a complicated procedure?

But, the option to format the external drive is in the menu.

 

Can't eject my external hard drive

Hi , I just bought a new computer and I found a weird error . It has windows 11 pro install and I have the latest version .

I have a lot of usb port , and two in the front . One work but the other can't eject my external hard drive . Let me explain . On the second usb port , it work perfectly but I don't have ANY option to eject the hard drive . The icon in the taskbar , the eject option in the window of the hard drive , right click on the name of the HDD , even in the creation of drive , there are not eject option !!!!! But on the other port it work . Also I have this error only with External Hard drive , when I plug an usb , I have an eject option when the usb open in a new window on the topbar .

This error drive me crazy and I hope you will be able to help me .
