Windows 10: Turning off Bitlocker on Win11 Home

I have recently purchased a new laptop and transferred an additional SSD from my old one to the new one. Unfortunately, the Laptop I bought was faulty so I had to return it and go back to using my original one. Once I transferred the SSD back to my old laptop, I found that it got automatically locked by Bitlocker. I have the recovery key listed at myrecoverykey page in Microsoft account, so I can unlock the SSD without a problem. However, now every time I reboot my laptop, the drive gets locked again and I have to unlock it again every time. I have researched the community forums a little an

We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

• You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
• The drive must be BitLocker-protected.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

• Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
• Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
• A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.

Turn of Bitlocker

I have an external USB drive encrypted with Bit locker

Was able to access it just fine with the password

Choose the “turn off BitLocker” option

It went through the steps of decrypting

The drive disappeared from the file manager when it returned it was still locked and the password I used prior no longer works from the command line. It says I have the wrong password

If I choose "Unlock Drive" from windows OS I get "The BitLocker Encryption on This Drive isn't Compatible with Your Version of Windows try a newer version"

• I have tried on three machines and still no luck
