Windows 10: Turn off CTRL+F exclamation sound

Hello! How does one turn off the notification sound that occurs when you have a failed ctrl+F search? Currently I have tried Change System Sounds —> Sounds —> and then I selected “Exclamation”, set it to None, and applied the change. This did not resolve the issue and the noise still occurs when a search turns up empty. I am currently running Windows 11, version 22H2. Thank you!

Windows 11 annoying ctrl+f sound

Hi everyone, I've recently upgraded to Windows 11. Whenever I do ctrl+f and fail to search something on the page, it would play this annoying sound. The sound wasn't as annoying in previous versions of windows, but the latest sound is too annoying. I've looked on some guides, and some people suggested turning off the Asterisk and Exclamation sounds, but that isn't working.

Is there any way to turn off the sound? thanks!

It sounds like you'd like to turn off the sound when Ctrl+F failed to search. Try the following step to see if it's possible.

Right-click the small speaker icon in the lower right corner of the desktop > Select Sound Settings > More Sound Options > Scroll down to Program Events and set the default sound to none > Click OK.

How do you turn off the sound for the failed Ctrl+F search function in MS Excel?

I've been trying to turn off a really irritating sound in MS Excel and from what I can gather, it's a Windows system sound (sound within Excel is off). I've searched and searched but there are so many different suggestions and nothing explains it properly.
I finally found where all the system sounds are but couldn't make sense of them all. Please can someone help?

I don't want to turn off all sounds, just the one that keeps playing every time I search for something on my spreadsheet. It's driving me crazy. If anybody is able to provide step by step instructions, that would be brilliant. I'm on Windows 10, it's up
to date. Office is 365. Thank you all!
