Windows 10: Turn off ads

Discus and support Turn off ads in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I have disabled and shut down all annoying advertising BS that this OS will let me.     Turn off ads


    I have disabled and shut down all annoying advertising BS that this OS will let me. However, upon turning on my system this morning I was greeted with a popup ad notification on my desktop for some xbox garbage. This should not happen and needs to never happen again. If a setting was changed due to an update, then it should also not happen and needs to never happen again.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    1. Is Cortana able to search the apps installed?

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    • Type Start Settings in Search and hit
      Enter.
    • Turn on Show recently added apps in jump list of Start of Taskbar.

    I'm still seeing start menu ads dispite turning them off

    Hello BreadedChicken, and welcome to Ten Forums. Turn off ads :)

    The Occasionally show suggestions in Start setting is only for the Suggested apps shown in the All Apps list in the Start menu instead.

    *Arrow Turn On or Off App Suggestions on Start in Windows 10 Windows 10 Customization Tutorials

    You can also turn off automatic installation of suggested apps to completely stop them. Be sure to also read the blue note box at the top of the tutorial below for more info.
