Windows 10: Trying to play a steam game and it's giving me an error.

Trying to play batman arkham asylum through steam and it's giving me an error saying:"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.""Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D'Version=1.0.2902.0 Culture=neutral.PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified"When I try to continue it doesnt work, how can i fix it?

Steam games not launching on Windows 10


Hi all,

I'm having a problem when I try to launch Steam games, as whatever game I try to launch doesn't actually launch. A message comes up about the game "preparing to launch" but then nothing after that happens. Some games give me an error saying Steam is not running at all, whereas others just do nothing.

I've already completed all the troubleshooting steps on Steam's website but none of them have actually fixed it. The only temporary fix that works is restarting Steam, but this becomes very annoying when I have to do it multiple times a day every time I want to play a game.
