Windows 10: Touchpad doesn’t work on HP Pavillion x360 Convertible 14m-dw0xxx

For a few weeks now my I2C HID Device is showing an error 10 code. I’ve tried to update the driver and disable it, restart and enable it but these fixes were temporary and now don’t work anymore. My touchpad isn’t responsive at all.

My Touch Pad on my HP Pavillion x360 model number 14M-CD0006X] isn't working. When looking for it this is what happens: The device does not show up initially in the Device Manager and neither does Mice and Pointing Devices. But, they both will show up if I click on "Show Hidden Devices". In which case it lists "Synaptics SMBus TouchPad" with a yellow warning triangle over it. Right clicking its properties says "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)" If I click on "Update Driver" it says that the driver is up to date.

In addition, there are no click pad settings anywhere to be found on my laptop. I would be grateful for a fix to this issue,

Sorry for not getting it correct before, the service model for the laptop is “HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14m-dw0xxx”. If that doesn't help let me know.

 

Why is my computer say no input or output deviced?

It started in May. My make and model is HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14m-dw0xxx. Microsoft Windows 11. I tried the steps you gave a reset but it did not work.
