Windows 10: Tiring issue of windows 11 replacing amd drivers with generic, unstable, crash-inducing...

I tried sysdm.cpl method. I tried regedit method. I can't even use group policy because this is Windows Home and not Pro. I have to switch to my 2nd monitor on IGPU, to reinstall my amd gpu drivers and restart my PC every time it crashes an app and backscreens. And before i could attempt, the show and hide update tool is gone. WHY did you retire the tool before offering a replacement??? Now im totally out of options. And before you ask, every single thing is up to date, obviously i updated before even touching regedit. My hardware is fine. This driver nonsense started happening few weeks ago

Hello, sorry to hear about your issue with AMD drivers being replaced by Windows updates.



Unfortunately, as the Microsoft community does not have access to push changes to Windows drivers, we will get back to you on this issue, and as the AMD drivers pushed by Windows are also official drivers pushed by AMD in conjunction with Microsoft, it may be difficult to make changes.

My suggestion is that for driver version updates, you can do it from the official website of the manufacturer of that computer, which should work.

SSD samsung evo and amd drivers

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The issue could be because of the AMD drivers installed on the computer.

Since the Samsung SSD is working fine with the Microsoft AHCI driver, I suggest you to update the AMD driver and check if that helps. To update the AMD drivers follow the steps from the article

Update drivers in Windows 10.

If updating the drivers didn’t help, I suggest you to roll back the driver to previous build and check if that helps. To roll back the driver to previous build follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Device manager.
   
3. In Device manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
   
4. Right click on AMD SATA Controller and select
   Properties.
   
5. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.
   
6. Restart the computer.
