Windows 10: Timezone changes to CST automatically even though I am geologically in PST for multiple devices

My company have >20 windows 10/11 users getting incorrect timezone CST instead of Pacific Time when connecting to wifi APs in a Los Angels building. They got the right timezone in a nearby building within 100 meter. Both good and bad building are sharing the same 4 public IPs. Can you specify what other factors can change timezone? it’s noticed that the timezone does not change when disabling location change.

How to boot between two Windows 11 drives with separate timezones?

Hello! I have two different Windows 11 installations running on two different drives on my system. One is for work, which should be set to CST. The other is for personal use, which is set to PST. However, when I switch between the two systems using the dual boot menu, the timezone often gets inherited from the previous settings.

To clarify, here's an example.

1. Today I logged into my work drive. My timezone was set to CST.
   
2. I restarted the computer and choose my personal drive.
   
3. Although I had previously set the timezone on my personal account to PST, it changed to CST. It seemed to "remember" the timezone from my work installation.
   

Is the timezone stored in the bios or something? Thanks!

 

Timezones changing to Amsterdam automatically

Don't know if anyone else has this issue, and i've been running around in circles with microsoft about the issue.

In my company, we have several computers that are automatically changing timezones to Amsterdam for some reason, and i've yet to figure out why. At first i thought this was with our local internet/server, because we locally host the database for our application we use. However, when i login to the server it shows the correct timezone, CST. and in windows when i sync with the internet for clock, its syncing to the right timezone as well.

Here are all the options i've exhausted:

- Changed "set timezone automatically" to off

- Gone into CMD to change it as well

- Ensured the servers are all showing the correct timezone, and when syncing displays correct timezone

- Contacted our application we use and ensured that the servers on their end show the correct time zone

The only other thing i can think of is possibly a CMOS battery issue, but these issues are happening on newer computers, not any of our older ones.

Any ideas?

 

Not changing Timezone automatically

So, I checked this again. When I went to Germany, it changed automatically, everything as it is supposed to. When I came back to Latvia, it stayed in Germany timezone. I connected to WIFI, checked that even MSN weather application switched to Latvia, but
the timezone stayed. I tried turning on/off location, autmatic timezone changes, but nothing helped. Then I set manually timezone and switched it back to automatic timezone change - it switched back to Germany timezone. Now this morning (after ~36h being in
Latvia) it has changed to correct timezone. I kind of didn't do anything, it just shows now correct again. But I'm pretty sure that the issue will reappear next time.
