    Time Sync Issue

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get better clarity on the issue, please let us know:

    • When you say, “Windows Time switches from Automatic to Manual” are you referring to Windows Time service?
    • What happens when you try to change time on your computer?
    • Could you please provide more information on “explanation for mistaken time sync and screen freeze”?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.

Meanwhile, you may want to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

Method 1: Re-register Windows Time DLL file

I suggest you to try re-registering the Windows Time dll file and check if that helps in resolving the issue:

    1. Type Command Prompt in the search bar on the
      Taskbar.
    2. Right click on Command Prompt icon and select
      Run as administrator.
    3. Type regsvr32 w32time.dll and hit
      Enter.
This will re-register the dll files for Windows Time service and will help you sync the time.

Method 2: Re-register Windows Time process

The Windows Time file (W32tm.exe) is used to configure the Windows time service settings. Re-registering the service will run the time service as a service and adds the default configuration to the registry.

    1. Type Command Prompt in the search bar on the
      Taskbar.
    2. Right click on Command Prompt icon and select
      Run as administrator.
    3. Type the following commands one-by-one and hit
      Enter
      :

      net stop w32time

      w32tm /unregister

      w32tm /register

      net start w32time

      w32tm /resync

Also, try changing the Internet Time settings. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open
      Run dialog box.
    2. Type timedate.cpl and click on
      OK
      .
    3. Navigate to Internet Time and click on
      Change Settings.
    4. Now, select time.nist.gov from the drop down and click on
      Update now.
    5. Click on OK to save changes.

    Let us know the results.

  3. Unable to sync Windows 10 time with time servers

I have a new, OEM installation of Windows 10 that is unable to contact any time servers to sync the system time. Each attempt gives me a timeout error, and pinging the time server times out as well. Here is what I've tried:

    • Checked that the Windows Time service is running and set to automatic startup, and restarted it
    • Disabled my firewall
    • Tried using time.nist.gov, which is currently working according to NIST
    • These steps using w32time, which appeared to succeed but didn't update the time

The time is currently off by 7 hours, which shouldn't be far enough to break Internet syncing.

EDIT: Just tried the same steps on my other computer which boots only Windows (albeit an longer-standing installation of 10), and had the exact same issue, except when I try syncing it simply says "An error occurred when Windows was synchronizing with time.nist.gov." So I highly doubt it is dual boot-related. What is going on?

    Time Sync Issue

    AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
