Windows 10: Thumbnails not showing

So I'm really unsure of where to go with this because google doesn't really have a lot of info on this issue, but my .mdp file thumbnails aren't showing up, just an icon for the program I use to open/edit them, Medibang Paint Pro. What I have tried is deleting a program that I saw could be conflicting with it, Firealpaca, and the cleanup thing. I also checked and made sure that the "always show icons" option wasn't selected. I've had this issue on both Windows 10 and now Windows 11 as I transition to a new laptop, though I plan on downgrading back to Windows 10 because I don't like Windows 11'

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

Are there any more suggestions?

This would be from the taskbar threshold limit to show a list instead of thumbnails. You can change the threshold limit using the tutorial below to increase it. Setting it to "0" (zero) will always show thumbnails.
