Windows 10: The weather widget on my Windows 11 Lock Screen never updates; how to get it to update/refresh?

I have noticed recently for several weeks at a guess that the weather widget on my Windows 11 Lock Screen never updates. Am I missing some setting, either general, or security specific to get this to update/refresh? And/or is there a way to force a refresh? To be clear: It does display the weather tile, and it does have the right location for me, it just never changes it is very noticeable as the weather it shows - always - has the same thunderstorm warning, the same exact temperature, etc, that never changes and does not normally match up with the current day's weather. 1. Create a New User Account: You can create a new user account to verify if the lock screen properly displays weather and other advisories under the new profile. Follow these steps:
   
   • Open the Settings app on your Windows device and navigate to Accounts > Other users.
     
   • Click on "Add account" and enter the required account information:
     
     • If the person already has a Microsoft account, enter their email address.
       
     • If they don’t have a Microsoft account, you can create one using their email address.
       
     • Alternatively, if you prefer a local account, choose "Add a user without a Microsoft account" option.
       
   • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup of the new account.
     
2. Check Group Policy Settings (Available on Windows 11 Pro):
   
   • If you are using Windows 11 Pro, you can manage Group Policy settings to control widgets and notifications on the lock screen.
     
   • Search for and open "Group Policy" from the Start menu.
     
   • Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Widgets.
     
   • Here, you can configure settings related to weather and other content on the lock screen. Setting it as "Not configured" enables weather and more by default. Disabling this setting turns off weather and more on the lock screen as well as widgets on the taskbar.

Lock Screen Weather Widget Disappeared after applying Windows 11 23H2 update

I recently downloaded and installed the Window 11 23H2 using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. After the update and a subsequent update (KB4023057), the lock screen no longer shows the Weather, Stock Prices and Sports widgets even though the personalization settings for the Lock Screen are set appropriately. All of these widgets were working prior to the update. I have the Weather widget set to "Default Location".

I have tried changing to another option (Calendar), but the lock screen continues to only show the current Windows Spotlight image.

"Winver" reports Windows 11 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3737). I have checked and there are no other pending updates even with "Get the latest updates..." option set in Windows Update.

1. Turn Live Tile On
   
   • Right-click the weather tile, go to More, and select Turn Live Tile On. Ensure that the Weather app is allowed to run in the background by going to Settings > Privacy > Background Apps and turning on the Weather app.
     
2. Update Location Settings
   
   • Sometimes updating the location settings can help. Open the widget, change the location to something else, and then revert it back to your actual location.
     
3. Restart Windows Explorer
   
   • Open Task Manager, find Windows Explorer, right-click on it, and select Restart. This can refresh the taskbar and widgets, potentially resolving the issue.
     
4. Reset or Reinstall the Weather App
   
   • You can try resetting the Weather app through its settings or uninstalling and then reinstalling it from the Windows Store.
     
5. Check Location Services
   
   • Ensure that location services are enabled for your device and that the Weather app has permission to access your location. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location and make sure the necessary settings are enabled.
     
6. End Task on Widgets.exe
   
   • As a temporary workaround, you can end the task for widgets.exe in Task Manager. This will refresh the widget and may stop the rapid refreshing for a few days.
