The 'Performance' page of the task manager is stuck, unable to display real-time content

When switching to the "Performance" page in the Task Manager, the displayed content is only the instantaneous situation of the computer hardware at the time of opening this page. Unable to display the subsequent hardware status.

    :)

  2. FireFox displayed too many times in the Task Manager

I am talking about data usage in relation to "content processes" which obviously if they are connected, they will use data and you have shown me several steps to take in order to limit FireFox gulping data. So, that part is figured out.

However, I think the part that was missed in my updated part of the thread where I showed my "Performance" settings:

The 'Performance' page of the task manager is stuck, unable to display real-time content 257254d1575143324t-firefox-displayed-too-many-times-task-manager-performance.jpg

    Yet, I still have this:

The 'Performance' page of the task manager is stuck, unable to display real-time content 257255d1575143376t-firefox-displayed-too-many-times-task-manager-content-processes.jpg

The Task Manager contradicts my "Performance" settings.

Isn't that a bit odd that I have my Performance settings content process limit set to 1, and yet four processes are active in my Task Manager for FireFox?

Is that done by Group Policy as well?

  3. Task manager doesn't update resources on real time

    Hi,

It's possible that the Performance window in your Task Manager has been paused. For us to verify this, let's verify if it's really paused or set to a normal speed. Please follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the task bar and click Task Manager.
    • In the Task Manager window, click the Performance tab.
    • At the top, click View.
    • Navigate to Update speed. If it's paused, then click
Normal. Your Performance tab should now be working.

We're looking forward to your feedback.

    Regards.

FireFox displayed too many times in the Task Manager

    Thank you @bo elam!

My FireFox has now moved to the "Background processes" instead of appearing numerous times unexplainably in my "Apps" and taking huge chunks of CPU usage and Memory.

Your suggestion of the "Performance" settings seems to have done the trick. Although I do find this perculiar about mine versus yours when it comes to where I have the red arrow pointing:

The 'Performance' page of the task manager is stuck, unable to display real-time content 257192d1575121165t-firefox-displayed-too-many-times-task-manager-processes.jpg

I don't have the "Learn how to check if multiprocess is enabled" link under the "Content process limit" field box. I also duly noted that "Your browser is being managed by your organization" is something different between our screenshots as well.

Obviously it doesn't matter, because I think your performance suggestion worked as far as I can tell, regardless if my Browser is being managed by an organization or not.

    Thank you again @Callender!

This suggestion took care of the second part of my problem and thus was just as helpful, although I am going to look into that extension you linked in your post.

I'm assuming that extension link is setup when using the "FireFox Account" correct?

I am not sure if I want to setup a FireFox Account just yet, because Bo's "Performance" suggestion settings seemed to have worked in as far as what I wanted to accomplish.

I will test FireFox further with the suggested settings before marking this as solved.

Even with my Performance settings like this:

The 'Performance' page of the task manager is stuck, unable to display real-time content 257207d1575125557t-firefox-displayed-too-many-times-task-manager-performance-limit.jpg

    I still have this:

The 'Performance' page of the task manager is stuck, unable to display real-time content 257208d1575125603t-firefox-displayed-too-many-times-task-manager-firefox-processes.jpg

It is as though FireFox is ignoring its own settings and launching more content processes than what I have defined in my settings.

Also, it has now moved again out of the Background processes and into my Apps in Task Manager. It can't make up its mind whether or not it is a Background process or a launched app - What is going on here?

    Something is still not right.
