Among the many, many problems beginning with Windows 7 a colleague's computer recently "lost" the taskbar and start menu. After attempting many supposed "fixes" I finally "fixed" it by creating a new Windows user on that machine. Like many of us she typically leaves her machine on 24/7 because of the ridiculous amount of time wasted waiting for the malware called an operating system to simply load. Well, the next morning another forced update undid days of research and attempted fixes... and the taskbar and start menu again are gone. Why does Micro$oft have literal contempt for their loyal, lon

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. Windows 10 malware

This morning, came to my PC, to see that (sneakily in last Win 8.1 updates) there was some "Get Windows 10" malware app, updating and rebooting and reconfiguring my PC through multiple reboots. It was at a critical time of my working morning and I couldnt get to my PC.
