Discus and support The Icons and Buttons on my tool bar have these white Xs across them. in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; How do I get rid of these Xs across the icons?     The Icons and Buttons on my tool bar have these white Xs across them.


    How do I get rid of these Xs across the icons? It seems to effect my Office 365 applications.I've tried rebooting my computer and doing an office 365 repair. No luck.

    xs icons task bar overwhelming!

    Hi, As to your taskbar- rt click the icons and click 'Unpin from taskbar'. Here's your screenshot, reposted using forum features- please use those - the way you've done it is the least helpful to respondents.

    Tutorial available if needed. To launch programs and more use a good searchable start menu. Open shell (free) is excellent - full drag 'n drop support, support for deeply nested menus, lets you easily add folders etc etc. You can also use search. Taskbar search box on the taskbar or Win key + s to see the search box. Open Shell has its own search box.

    • Is the white bar present regardless of what program you are using on your computer?

    • Can you send us a screenshot of the
      white bar?
      Please edit the image if any personal information may be exposed.

    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?



    This issue could also be related to
    damaged screen. We suggest that you contact your manufacturer to have your computer checked for hardware issues.

    Cannot set home button icon Microsoft Edge


    The workaround is not a solution as I stated. It merely create an button on the Favorite Bar!

    Please follow davidhk's suggestion. You may have to run SFC /scannow three times in order to correct the file corruption problem!
