Windows 10: The Broadcom 802.11n Network Adaptor and Windows 10

Hello Microsoft & Everybody,


My laptop has the Broadcom 802.11n Network Adaptor, which according to Device Manager is working properly:




The driver version is 6.30.223.256:




The thing is whilst everything seems fine and in working order,I have never been able to turn WiFi on using this adaptor. At first, I thought it was due to it being an old technology, hence it is not compatible with newer ones. I even purchase a new wireless USB adaptor just to get on the 5GHz network at home.


Then, I found out the following:

1. that my laptop with the 802.11n adaptor actually supports 5GHz; and

2. there is a newer driver version 7.35.352.0.


So, why has Windows Update NOT updated this driver? There are quite a number of claims online that Microsoft has blocked this driver version because of a compatibility issue between their latest update and the driver version. And since they have yet to find a fix for it, they decided to just block it completely.


How much truth are in those claims found abundantly online I do not know. However, Microsoft needs to be buck-up and stop sending out updates that ruin other perfectly-OK products and make its customers' lives a nightmare! Most of all, they need to be more responsible and do better especially when the manufacturers of other components and parts of a computer these days have to go through Microsoft to update their products.


Now, my question is this:

Does anyone know where I can find the latest driver version 7.35.352.0 for my Broadcom 802.11n network adaptor that is signed so that my Windows 10 laptop will allow the driver update to proceed?

This app can't run on this PC - Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter Wireless... doesnt work on this verion of Windows

Try the one from the Broadcom website listed for Windows 10. You may have to restart your computer after installation for it to take effect.

Acer Switch 10 Broadcom 802.11abgn wireless SDIO cannot start after upgrading to Windows 10 Creator's edition.

Have you tried the latest driver?

Is the adapter hidden? Device manager>View>Hidden devices.

If so unhide & try to update the driver.

Original title: updated my sony vaio svf15 to windows 10 now the broadcom network adaptor doesn't work

Why have we been given windows 10 with all its problems. I now have an error every time I turn my computer on say this app can't run on this pc. Broadcom 802.11 network adaptor wireless network controller doesn't work on this version of windows.

my wifi is now a lot slower than it was. Any help on this? thank you.
