Windows 10: Task manager closes automatically.

So I just updated windows 10 recently, due to a power outage the update was unable to install.Then I updated it after the restart, when i open task manager it opens up and when I click on any tab like 'details','services',etc it just stops responding and closes.Then I tried opening minecraft windows 10 game and it also crashes.All other apps work just fine. Also there are no viruses and malwares etc.In safe mode everything works just fine.I've tried updating drivers, Updating windows, troubleshooter, sfc scan but nothing seems to work.Can someone suggest any other ideas?

There are several reasons why the Task Manager automatically closes when opening. These may include the recent changes made on your computer or there is a corruption on your user profile. Answering the following questions may help us in uncovering the underlying
cause of the issue:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue?
• Have you tried creating a temporary user profile to isolate the issue?
• Just to verify, is your computer shutting down when you are accessing the Task Manager or the Task Manager closes itself?
• Are you getting an error message or code when this happens?

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

 

Close Porgramme and Task Manager

Like Ed said below, windows does not have a built in task manager. However, you can trust the windows phone to close or suspend apps automatically.

However, if you really badly want these apps to stop running in the background here are two things you can do.

a) Simply restart the phone.

b) Activate battery saver option in settings. This will automatically kill all background apps.

Just a note, these are not the official steps from windows phone support. Just something I learnt from experience.
