  1. Task bar and start menu taking a long time to load in and work after starting PC, Windows...

When my computer starts and I log in, the task bar is blank and when I click on it it bugs out and resets, and the same is the case for the start menu. Eventually it loads in and the apps I have saved appear, and the start menu works, but it takes 30 seconds-1 minute where it never did before. I guess from what I've seen it's something to do with file explorer, but I'm not sure how to stop it. Additionally, the windows update service has stopped working, and 'won't connect to the update service'. I've tried the troubleshooter stuff, changing my DNS to 8.8.8.8 + 8.8.4.4 and making sure the prox

  2. Start Menu and Task Bar not working

    Hi,

I've had an issue for several weeks where my Start Menu and Task Bar don't respond (or respond very intermittently) to both left and right mouse clicks. I've searched the net and this community forum, and it appears that this problem has been pretty prevalent
for at least a couple of years.

I've tried the most commonly proposed solutions, e.g.

    • The PowerShell as administrator solution, using "

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}". This just hangs indefinitely, with the progress bar never moving. I've left this for
over an hour, and seen no movement at all in the bar.

    • I've tried the sfc /scannow solution multiple times. The first few times, it just reported that it couldn't find any issues. Recently, it now just says: "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service"

The only way I've actually been able to temporarily resolve the problem, is by shutting down the PC and then pulling the power cord on the PC. This restores all functionality for the next session, but then the next time I restart or shutdown and then restart
my PC, the Start Menu and Task Bar is broken again.

I've been struggling with this issue for nearly a month now, and it's starting to become incredibly frustrating. This is especially true when it appears that the issue has been ongoing for years, and none of the suggested solutions appear to work. Any help
that anyone can provide would be enormously appreciated, as I'm starting to get incredibly frustrated by this issue.

    Thanks in advance,

  3. Task Bar and Start Menu Problems

I just upgraded to windows 10 today and after dong so I found my start menu no longer worked - I also had my desktop background removed which was weird since other things weren't changed, and the fact that talking about it, others said their weren't changed.

After spending some time frustrated with the slow loading times and the fact literally nothing but the start menu and the task bar seemed any different I found that the task bar had frozen. The time was not changing and none of the buttons were working.
So I have a computer that takes at least 5 minutes at best to load up the desktop, no start menu functionality and a taskbar that will freeze if you're not careful and no cortana or anything else I was promised. I also can't downgrade since I believe that
is only possible through the start menu. Can anyone help or do I have to format my entire computer now?
