Windows 10: SYSTEM USING 100% DISK; FOR NO APPARENT REASON

Ever since a while ago, whenever I open task manager, it shows that System is using 100% of my disk!! I thought this odd, and looked online for different solutions. All of which, didn't seem to solve my problemIMPORTANT THINGS; So, the problem seems to occur AFTER I startup my computer, to be exact about 10-15 minutes afterwards. During the first little bit of my computer running, everything works completely fine. Once it hits that 10-15 minute mark though, the disk usage immediately skyrockets to 100%ANOTHER IMPORTANT THING; I'm using an SSD, which is why it feels like this really SHOULDN'T b

I've seen that article. and I am in fact not running that driver. I followed the steps and it does not appear in the list.

Did you notice any changes on the computer prior to this issue?

What is the make and model of the computer?

One of the possible reasons for this issue is Advanced Host Controller Interface PCI-Express (AHCI PCIe) running with AtorAHCI.sys driver. Please refer to the article:

I also suggest to try the steps mentioned in the article: Improve system performance in
Windows 10 and let us know the status of the issue.

how to determine what's causing 100% disk usage

Considering your 2nd screenshot, assuming your Disk column is organised high to low, you have a problem with disk transfer rate- it appears to be low yet shown as 100%

There are various programs running that appear unnecessary.

Suggest you do a clean boot and compare. You should expect disk usage when idle - a few mins after boot - to be zero unless there's good reason.

Comparing your 1st and 3rd screenshots, note the max transfer rate is 10x that in the 3rd screenshot.

It's not doing an update, and not apparently a paging problem.

From that it appears you have limited disk transfer rate, and the disk activity doesn't settle to near zero.

I'd suggest looking through those first, using any ideas there, keep a list of what you try, and post back with that list if you still have problems.
