All,Over a period of 42 seconds last night my Security Log shows events: 6416 - new USB device recognized HID compliant mouse - twice 4624/4672 - SYSTEM/advapi logging on "myhostname$" and assigning a long list of privileges 4624/4672 - SYSTEM/advapi logging on "myhostname$" and assigning a long list of privileges again 5379 - SYSTEM/"myhostname$" enumerating credentials - 193 times !!This is a Windows 11 minitower, patched up to date from Microsoft. It has been running stable for months and I noticed the events because I was gaming, and my mouse started lagging. Working backwar

  2. suspicious email

Unfortunately no I still can't see it

In any case. Microsoft would only contact you via email if there was a problem with your account such as a payment overdue on a subscription service, or suspicious log-in activity on your account.

reference the two possible domains that an email from Microsoft could come from in my first reply to see if the email is genuinely from Microsoft

if you have already changed your account password you have taken steps to secure your account also note that while you did not mention any phone calls Microsoft will never call you on the telephone unless you have requested a phone call

  3. recieved a suspicious email

could someone please inform me if this email is legit.

the email I received this morning claimed it was from Microsoft and that they had detected suspicious log in

the email said "We detected something unusual about a recent sign-in for the Microsoft account
*** Email address is removed for privacy ***. For example, you might be signing in from a new location, device, or app."

To help keep you safe, we've blocked access to your inbox, contacts list, and calendar for that sign-in. Please review your recent activity and we'll help you secure your account. To regain access, you'll need to confirm that the recent activity was
    yours.

is this legit or some sort of hoax email tring to get my personal details ?

Microsoft is not in the habit of giving away products to people that ask for them.

But we do not work for Microsoft and can not help you.

I suggest that you contact Microsoft direct:

"Microsoft office locations around the world"

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/worldwide.aspx

    "Global Customer Service phone numbers"
