This error suggests that there might be an issue with the device node removal process in the Plug and Play (PnP) manager of your system. This could potentially be related to your external drive or the driver you installed.

Here are a few additional steps you could consider:

    • Ensure that all your drivers, not just your graphics driver, are still compatible. Sometimes, other outdated or incompatible drivers can cause conflicts leading to a BSOD. Visit the manufacturer's website to download and install the appropriate drivers.

    • Perform a clean boot to see if any third-party software is causing the issue. Sometimes, third-party software can conflict with each other. A "clean boot" starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. If your problem does not occur while the computer is in a clean boot environment, then you can determine which startup application or service is causing the problem by systematically turning them on or off and restarting the computer:

    • If possible, try using a different external drive to install the driver and see if the issue persists.

It’s always a good idea to back up your data regularly, especially when experiencing system issues like a BSOD.

Please let us know if you have any other concerns.

    Best regards
