SSD Media Wearout Indicator at 10%, is drive still safe to use?

    Hello,

I have a 180GB Intel SSD which I pulled from an old laptop (around 2014 I believe). The drive health is shown in crystaldiskmark as 10% which seems to be coming directly from the Media Wearout Indicator:

From this Ten Forums post, it looks like this SSD may be approaching its Nand erase cycles maximum:

The Total Nand Writes is 223 TB. Is this drive getting close to end of life? Is it still safe to use?

    Thanks!

    :)

Upgrading HP SSD drive on HP 750-524

I purchased an HP Envy tower with a 128Gb SSD which is where Windows is installed, I have purchased a new 1TB SSD drive that I would like to replace the 128 GB drive with. My machine did not come with the Windows 10 Media, what steps do I need to take before
I install the new drive and install windows.

    • Where do I get the Windows 10 install
    • What steps are needed to create an Install disk
    • Do I have to deactivate my old install before removing the old drive.
Please let me know if there are any other considerations.

    Best Regards,

    Wes

  3. Hiding devices from Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media list

In my Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media list both my internal SSD and storage drive are listed. I want to be able to hide/remove these drives from the list. After a lot of searching all I could find was a registry trick for Win7 which no longer applies
in Win10. All the other suggestions have been to shut off hot swapping but that is something I use. This is a work machine that I am often connecting and disconnecting drives from. It seems like it should be a simple thing to mark certain devices to not be
    listed. What can I do?
