Windows 10: Sometimes apps freeze and a blue circle appears.

Hello. I have a problem. I recently got stuck in the Settings app. It turned black and a blue circle appeared. I was able to fix it by pressing Ctrl Shift Escape and the app went back to normal and I closed it. Also sometimes I notice that some applications freeze, and a big blue circle appears instead of the cursor. How can this be fixed?

There may be several reasons why the blue circle appears on the screen of your laptop. To isolate the issue, kindly answer the following questions first:

• When does the blue circle appears?
• If you can, please post here the screen shot of this blue circle when it shows. Make sure not to include sensitive information like name, contact number etc.
  
• What is the current build of your Windows 10 PC? Check it by following these steps:
  

• Press the Windows key.
• Type Winver and then press Enter.
• A small box will appear on your screen. The exact build can be found together with Microsoft Windows Version.
  

Meanwhile, you may start your PC in safe mode as an initial troubleshooting step. Safe mode will start your PC in the basic state with limited files and drivers. This is very helpful for troubleshooting and isolating problems in your PC. Click the link below

Blue Circle Always Spinning

or a malfunction on the mouse hardware. To get you sorted, kindly answer the questions below.

• Were there changes made prior to the issue?
• What are the troubleshooting steps that you have done in an attempt to resolve the issue?

For case isolation, we suggest that you install the driver for the mouse directly from the manufacturer's website.

Unresponsive app/spinning blue circle.

I have had an issue for the last month or so with an intermittent spinning blue circle appearing during general desktop use. Sometimes it will pop up as much as every minute or so. I started a related thread here a few weeks ago in which Ten forums member zbook picked up on on some other system issues which he felt should be addressed before troubleshooting the spinning circle.

To date those issues which include an in place upgrade repair, replacing multiple misbehaving drivers that had caused BSOD and fixing the drive file system have been completed and zbook is confident the spinning circle troubleshooting can proceed with members that are more experienced in this type of troubleshooting. He suggested that this may be troubleshooted in a clean boot state and that a 3rd party software may be responsible for the spinning circle. I would appreciate any more assistance with this. Thanks.
