  1. *Some settings are hidden or managed by your company

I'm seeing a RED *Some settings are hidden or managed by your company message on a couple of screens in Settings.
Settings > System > Notifications & actions. "Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows" and "Show me the Windows welcome experience after updates...." are greyed out.
Settings > Personalization > Lock screen. "Get fun facts, tips, tricks and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen" is also greyed out
Settings > Personalization > Start. "Show most used apps", and "Occasionally show suggestions in Start" are greyed out.

This all happened after I upgraded from the AU to the CU. Windows 10 Education. Has happened on two PC's. No such issue with my Windows 10 Home PC. Will be doing a clean install at some point but interested to see if anybody else has had similar issues.

    :)

I only use Defender + Malwarebytes, I uninstalled malwarebyes and will attempt your options now.

    Hi DAyr1,

Boot into BIOS (Usually F2 or Del on the Manufacturers logo screen when your system starts

Turn off Secure Boot in BIOS (UEFI) settings

Check to see if this resolves this issue, if not turn Secure Boot back on . . .

There are quite a few posts on 'some settings' for previous editions. If you didn't see that previously, that begs the question as to whether there's a difference in the builds as regards GPO settings somehow.

  5. The ones I saw are for "Some settings are managed by your company" on the Windows update screen. I don't have any warning there though?

  7. Didn't have that message before the upgrade. I'm just about to go do a clean install on my laptop and see what happens.

Just did a clean install, used recommended settings, same deal. All the above items are greyed out and a red message top of screen. *Mad

  11. Did a clean install of 10 Pro from the same thumb drive, no such issues.

I think it comes from the GPO Microsoft.Policies.CloudContent setting which updates the registry DWORD DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures in HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent

You can set it to 1.

Not 100% sure if it works in Home (I only have Pro) but it should according to Google.

No GPEDIT in Home version. *Wink Regedit should work though.

  14. Set what to 1? The default value in that key?

  15. I envy you, under normal circumstances, it is not possible to disable it, because the reg key is random.
Anyway, if you are gonna clean install anyway, you might try removing all policies to see, if it helps.

    Code: reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f reg delete "HKCU\Software\Policies" /f reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Policies" /f reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies" /f reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Policies" /f reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Policies" /f[/quote]
