I have Windows 10 Home. I have the Installed key. I built this computer from scratch, so I don't have the OEM key. I believe that this Windows 10 was itself an upgrade from Version 7. In doing the transition, I want to actually build a Linux Platform and load either Virtual Box or VMware or some other Virtual Machine and then load Windows 11 within the Virtual Machine for an additional level of security. It is harder to hack the underlying Linux system, and even if it is hacked, it is easily re-established if you are really not doing anything with that Operating System other than hosting

    :)

    Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + S.
    • Type in Power Settings.
    • On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
    • Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Get back to us if you need further help.

    Power plan and pc bug

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Regarding your issue with importing a power plan and the disappearance of the check on the apps screen, I suggest that you try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Restart your computer and try importing the power plan again.

    2. Check if the power plan file is corrupted. Try importing a different power plan file to see if it works.

    3. Check if your computer is running on the latest version of Windows 11. If not, update your computer to the latest version and try importing the power plan again.

    4. If the issue persists, try resetting the power plan settings to default. To do this, go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Change plan settings > Restore default settings for this plan.

Regarding the disappearance of the check on the apps screen, I suggest that you try updating your computer's graphics driver. You can do this by going to Device Manager > Display adapters > Right-click on your graphics card > Update driver.

I hope these steps help resolve your issue. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,
