Windows 10: Small white rectangle below folder icons

Discus and support Small white rectangle below folder icons in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I've tried restarting my pc, updating my windows 10 version and looking it up on youtube but cant seem to find anything...     I've tried restarting my pc, updating my windows 10 version and looking it up on youtube but cant seem to find anything

    Small white rectangle below folder icons

    I noticed there are small white rectangles covering part of the folder icon, how do I get rid of it? I tried reinstalling the graphics driver and it still didn't work.

    white rectangles cover desktop icons?

    Hi,
    Ver: 1909
    All of a sudden, white rectangles cover W10 desktop icons? Rebooted, cleared icon cache to no avail. Laptop still works.

    Hi Carlo T.,

    That's kind of a drastic measure... at least to me. This laptop has had some issues since last year and I've factory reset it a number of times already. As a matter of fact, I just did a clean reinstall of Windows with Lenovo's Digital Download Recovery Service (DDRS) a fortnight ago due to suspected Windows errors.

    I believe this issue happened after I install the latest Nvidia graphics driver last night. But seeing that rolling back drivers did not work, I guess I'll have to let it be.

    Reinstalling Windows using Lenovo's DDRS is recommended compared to Microsoft's Media Creation Tool as I was informed that the operating system for each device is slightly customized. Besides, reinstalling Windows and the applications aren't worth the time for this small matter for me. At the moment I have yet to see any major problems other than the 'unpleasing' icons in Windows Explorer so I'll just let it be for now.

    Nevertheless, I really do appreciate you taking the time to reply to this thread and your incredibly fast response. Have a wonderful day and stay safe too.
