Windows 10: SLUI 04

Hi,

I have just installed a new motherboard + cpu in my PC.
Apparently that invalidates my Windows 10 key, and i had to get another, which i went and got.
But i says the key is already used, and when contacting the MS live chat bot, it wants me to run the commend "SLUI 04", which does nothing.
The icon is a key, but when pressed, nothing happens (also tried running it as admin).

What can i do to get this to work?
It's incredibly frustrating to buy a pretty expensive product, and not being able to use it.

Hi,

SLUI is a process known as Windows Activation Client

You can use SLUI to change your Product Key

You can use SLUI to remove your Product Key

You can use SLUI to get Help From Microsoft on Windows 10 Activation if you have your product Key

Click your Start Button, type slui.exe 4 then hit Enter

Select your country from the list menu

Choose the option phone activation, the wait for an agent to assist you

 

clean installed windows 8.1 no updates offered but downloading windows 10!!

Follow the methods below and check if you are able to activate Windows 8.1:

Method 1

I suggest you to first enter the Windows 8.1 Product Key and try to activate your Windows 8.1. Check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type ‘SLUI 03’ in the box and press Enter.
• Enter the product key and follow the prompts.

Method 2

If the above steps didn’t help, then you might need to activate through phone. Refer to these steps.

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type ‘SLUI 04’ in the box and press Enter.
• Choose your location and follow the prompts.
