Windows 10: Slider for Mouse cursor speed setting freezes

When I go to mouse settings and adjust the cursor speed with slider, it freezes the window. Speed does change after a minute or two but window stays freezed. I wonder if this is irelated to the issue of my mouse being choppy and laggy.Same happens when I try this in "Additional mouse options" i.e. mouse properties.My mouse is Logitch MX 720Software is Logi Options+ 1.30.7349I've tried few things:1. Resetted Mouse 2. Installed newest Drivers and Software 3. Replaced the Batteries 4. Cleaned the Mouse 5. Changed USB Port 6. Disabled Power Saving for USB Ports 7. Ran Hardware and Devices Troubl

Mouse cursor speed suddenly reduced

This is getting annoying. Even after the steps mentioned above, the cursor speed got super-slow. (To get across the screen was taking 7 to 9 movements of the full width of the mouse pad.) But it returned to normal in some apps, then got slow again when I left those apps. I tried replacing the batteries -- no difference. Then I looked at the mouse cursor speed, which I had left set to 16, and found that Windows (or some virus) had been reduced it to 8. I increased it to 20. Back to normal cursor speed. I left the computer for a couple of hours, and returned to find that the cursor speed was now super-fast. Much too fast. I set the cursor speed back to 12, and now it seems normal again.

Help!!

 

Slow cursor speed when scrolling through files using the arrow keys. Can't set it back to default.

I would suggest you try to adjust the mouse speed on Windows 10, use these steps:

1. Open Settings.

2. Click on Devices.

3. Click on Mouse.

4. Use the Cursor speed slider and change the setting to the desired speed (Fast)

I understand that you want to set the cursor speed value more than 20. The valid range of values for the registry key that you want are trying to change is 0 to 20, with a default value of 10.



Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

However, to increase the cursor speed you can change the mouse settings in Control Panel. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type control and click on
   OK.
   
3. Select Large icons from the drop down for
   View by.
   
4. Click on Mouse.
   
5. Navigate to Pointer options tab and under
   Motion, move the slider towards right to change the cursor speed.
   
6. Click on Apply and OK.
