Windows 10: Sky Email Problems

I am having a problem with my Sky Email. Since the last update my Sky email client account will not upload fully. I have tried deleting the account and then reloading it and initially it usually loads. However, the account does not refresh on a regular basis and I am missing many emails when it does eventually refresh. Any ideas?

sky/yahoo email

I keep getting a message saying my sky/yahoo email settings are out of date. I have tried so many different things and nothing has worked. My emails stopped in the middle of July 2020 on my laptop. Have rung Sky and they say it is a Microsoft problem so
I rang them and they cut me off.

Grateful for any suggestions.

Sky email with N96

I'm also having issues getting my n96 to connect to sky email, have tried various settings and it still does work. Anybody got a full list of instructions ? Would be appreciated

 

E72 Sky email stopped working

Hi, I'm hoping for some help from you knowledgeable people out there.



My E72 suddenly stopped connecting to my Sky mailbox, after

working well for almost 1 year. The last received message was late on 31st

August, nothing in or out since then. I hadn't changed any settings (was using

IMAP)



Other symptoms are that normally the E72 shows a rotating green circle when

it is synchronising with the mailbox, but this has stopped happening. Instead

it either shows a red cross (not connected - even when I try to force it

connect) or a grey circle (no idea what that means). Sadly the E72 email

client doesn't generate any other diagnostics - no error messages and no status

reports other than the circles.



To try to fix it, I have deleted the mailbox and created a new one, manually

entering the server details etc on this forum (carefully!). The result is the

same - apparently no connection. Again I am using the IMAP settings.



A few ideas I have had:



1. The timing of this breaking is suspicious - did something happen to change

the Nokia/Sky service on 1 September?



2. I believe the original settings for the Sky server in the E72 were

imap.gmail.com, not imap.tools.sky.com which is what Sky advises is the correct setup. I have tried both when setting up the new mailbox and neither works. But could this have

something to do with it? (For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sky's email service in the UK, it is hosted by gmail, and just branded as Sky's).



3. Using email on a Nokia seems to involve using some intermediary "Nokia

Messenging" server between the phone and the Sky/Gmail server. I don't fully

understand how this works, but I think it enables push email. I think this was

set up automatically when I first created the Sky mailbox on my phone (I don't

recall doing it). I have checked my Nokia Messaging account at email.nokia.com, and

it lists my sky email address and other details correctly; HOWEVER, it lists the

Sky server addresses as imap.gmail.com , not tools.sky. I

tried replacing this with imap.tools.sky.com, but this gives an error message

"Unable to connect with the settings provided. Please try

again."



Any ideas or suggestions for what I should try next in order to fix

it?
