Windows 10: Sign in with local account option missing

I have two local accounts and today one of them shows the Microsoft admin account name and email when I log off. This has been a local account for 4 years.The other local account still shows the correct account name with @local Account' written underneath the name.I have gone into the account profile but there is no option to select 'log in with local account' given.I have checked and the account is still local and does not have administrator privileges but I would like to remove the Microsoft email from showing when I log out.I am currently on Windows 10 and about to upgrade to Windows 11 bu

Microsoft account sign in option missing

I have a local account with a sign in password for boot up.

After a recent major MS update, I no longer have an option to sign in at boot up using my Microsoft account.

When I go to Settings > Accounts > Sign in options ... this is what I see.

Any suggestions to resovle this and restore MS account sign in?

If I go to Email app accounts > Add an account ... A new window flashes on the screen and disappears.

 

"sign in with a local account instead" is missing

Apparently this is a relatively common issue... at least according to the numbers here, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...0299bb2?page=1 where there are a couple of screenshots including the 'Your info' screen with this missing. There is no resolution there, just the suggestion 'The user account is corrupted'. "Manage my Microsoft Account" takes you (after logging in on line) to

- which might appear to be of interest, but the option to remove a device seems to be for devices you no longer use.

 

Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are

• Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
• No Internet connection during the install
• static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)
