  2. undate or delete wdcsam64.sys

    Hi MALLJ,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

No, it's only for the external drive. If you don't have to use the external drive then you can delete/remove the incompatible driver.

Can you try to uninstall the incompatible driver using Command Prompt?

    >Open Command Prompt as Admin.

    > Copy-paste the command below.

    pnputil /delete-driver <example.inf> /uninstall

**(replace the <example.inf> with the published name of "wdcsam64.sys". You can get it by opening Windows Security > Device Security > Core Isolation details > Review Incompatible drivers > click wdcsam64.sys > get Published nameShould I delete the wdcsam64.sys driver system file and then reinstall a newer version if... :)**

    > Then Open Windows Security Core Isolation and Scan again for incompatible driver.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

  3. undate or delete wdcsam64.sys

Hello, My name is Erfan. I will help you with this.

I understand how frustrating it is. Please try the below steps.

    1. Download Autoruns from the Microsoft Sysinternals site, and run it as administrator. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/...

    2. In the search box in Autoruns, type the driver file name "wdcsam64".

    3. If wdcsam64.sys appears in the list, right-click and choose Delete.

Check for Windows updates. Settings(Win+I) > Windows update > Check for Windows update.

    Modify the registry editor.

    1. Type "Registry Editor" in Windows Search and open the Registry Editor.

    2. Navigate to the following path:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard\Scenarios\HypervisorEnforcedCodeIntegrity

    3. Right-click on the Enabled key in the right pane and select Modify...

    4. Enter "1" under Value data if it is not already there.

Also, try the methods given in the video below:

Let me know if that did not help. Thank you.

Should I delete the wdcsam64.sys driver system file and then reinstall a newer version if...

    undate or delete wdcsam64.sys

I'm running Windows 11. I tried to use my Western Digital external backup drive, and in the process, I turned off the memory integrity toggle under Core Isolation.

I've checked for updates and I can scan and delete all but one instance of the driver (wdcsam64.sys) but I can't turn this core isolation setting on. How important is this setting?

    thanks

    Mark
