  1. Severe Lagging When Typing in OneNote for Windows 10

I'm posting this here because in spite of all of the other posts and mechanisms for feedback, I don't think this issue is being properly addressed. Instead, only workarounds are being proposed.

Use Case: I would like to use OneNote for Windows 10 to take notes and journal. I am a fast typer, and like to see the characters on the screen around the time that I make a keystroke. This helps me to keep the flow of ideas on the page, much like a typewriter, word processor, or text field for literally ANY OTHER computer application.

The Problem: When I type in OneNote, especially after a few sentences, the text appearing on the screen begins to lag significantly to the point where it is all but impossible to keep typing/writing. Backspacing or moving the text cursor is not always immediately reflected on screen and, as a result, many errors occur. This delay makes the program unusable in my opinion.

Troubleshooting: I have gone to the most extreme measures to troubleshoot this, including reformatting my computer i7 Surfacebook with a helluva good Internet connection, and creating an entirely new OneNote notebook. If I turn off active syncing, the problem goes away, but then what use is a cloud-based note taking program if I need to manually sync my notes? This issue is not present in OneNote for Office, either. I'm currently using Version 16001.13801.20202.0.

    :)

    Typing Lag after recent update

Ever since I did the latest update for my computer (it's a Windows 10 PC) I've experienced massive lag when typing.

It's not a delay - the letters will not appear after the lag. Instead it will simply not register anything during it.

The lagging happens pretty much once per second, so it happens really frequently. This makes it so I can't type fast, or several of the letters will be missing. Just typing this post was terribly hard.

If I for example spam a letter it will come through, but within a second the lag will happen and even though I'm repeatedly pressing one of the keys the typing will just "stop" on screen for maybe half a second, and then it will come through again.

I have no idea why it's suddenly like this. I've never had this happen before and I've had the computer for several years, it's ridiculous.

And before you suggest: Yes, I've tried turning on and off the 'filter keys' thing. It did not help at all.

    Thankful for the help.

  3. OneNote scrolling lags with a tickbox list of ~30 items

Greetings Brendan! Welcome to the Windows Phone forums!

I have a shopping list with approximately 50 items, and I notice no lag.

However, this also presumes that when I first open the list, that I first wait for OneNote to sync with the Cloud version that everyone else in the family is linked-to:

First it says "Syncing...", then once it completes successfully, it says "Page is Up to Date". Now I can attempt to scroll up or down without any lag or delays.

Could it be that you are not letting it finish synchronizing before you begin scrolling up or down? If your delays occur after the sync, then there could be somehting else going on.

I presume this is a text only shopping list, and not one filled with graphics/pictures?

    Let us know!

OneNote scrolling lags with a tickbox list of ~30 items

I have a Lumia 800 running WP 7.10.8773 and OneNote. With a moderate sized shopping list made up ~30 tickboxes there is some lag when scrolling down and especially up. Is this normal?
