Windows 10: Serious data loss caused by OneDrive update

This is related to this thread, which, interestingly, has been already locked.Yesterday, after a computer restart, I was greeted with the blue setup dialog asking me to switch the OneDrive backup function on. I can't remember what I selected, but immediately after login I went to OneDrive settings and found the backup settings in ord

First step isn't right click. The download is a zip file. The program is portable.



If you can't even run that, and given other issues, and the length of this thread, and if an in-place upgrade repair install won't help, suggest you're looking at a clean install.

 

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
