Windows 10: security update for Visual C++ 2008 Service pack redistributable will not install

Every time I run Windows 11 update, update tries to install this and fails. I uninstalled the Visual C++ 2008 redistributable, and the update still tries to install and fails. How do I either install this successfully, or get Windows Update to stop trying to install it??

Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack Chinese Dialog Box

When I try to run Windows Update it fails on "Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243)."

One of the fixes after search was to uninstall it and then run update again.

When I click on it in Uninstall Programs I get a Windows Installer chinese dialog box.






Running malwarebytes now . But any help would be appreciated

Try this.

Uninstall all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables both x86 and x64 versions.
Install OpenOffice 4.1.6.
Uninstall any versions 2008 redistributables installed after verifying the program works.
Find and install the latest versions 2008 redistributables both x86 and x64 versions.
Verify OpenOffice 4.1.6 still works.
