Windows 10: Screen with rainbow lines or goes dark when unplugged on Minecraft

I have a Microsoft Pro 9. When I am on Minecraft, and unplug my laptop, the screen starts going crazy. The issue is resolved when I plug the laptop back in. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft, as well as restarting my computer. I have a problem with the screen on my laptop going dark when unplugged from the external power, as soon as I plug it back in it comes to life. I have reinstalled windows several times. still has the glitch. Thanks

 

Dark line across screen

Does anyone know why all of a sudden this week when I turned on my computer, there was a 3/4 inch dark line across my screen that separates my screen? I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to get the cursor to go back to the top of the document. What
a pain. When I called Dell, they told me I need a new computer - really? Any suggestions? I have tried the screen display and resolution - nothing.

Unfortunately my computer won't stay on long enough to try the suggestion. It just goes dark with no warning, can't get it to stay on for more than about 5 minutes.
