    After the last update to Windows 10, a downward-facing caret appeared in the taskbar. Clicking on this caused my screen to be reduced by 3/4, losing valuable information from email and web sites. I can't restore the full screen with arrow dragging, and the Get Help site is not responding.

    Reduce Desktop Display Width

    Hi Greg

    The is not really a way to do the, if you reduce the width of Windows on your screen, it will reduce equally on the left and right, because the image will always be centered on your screen . . .

    Your best option would be to move the Taskbar from the bottom of your screen to the right hand side of your display, that way, the Start Menu would be on the right hand side of your screen . .

    Right click an empty part of your Taskbar, make sure 'Lock the Taskbar' is not ticked

    Then click and drag the Taskbar onto the right edge of your screen

    Right click your Taskbar and tick the 'Lock the Taskbar' option . . .

    reduction in screen width

    Today my screen for windows 10 was reduced by a black edge about 2" wide on either side on the screen. I tried to drag the screen but it did not work. When I tried to look for solutions on the internet it only referred to screen resolution which doesn't
    resolve the problem. Before today (25 March 2016) the screen was a full width. How can I return the screen to full width?

    How to reduce width of the taskbar buttons?


    Hello,

    This is in reference to this tutorial.

    What I want to do is to reduce the width of the taskbar buttons even further...that is, even shorter width than what's shown as size 38 in that tutorial. I want the buttons in my taskbar to show their respective icons along with only 3-4 characters of text.

    I remember that I accomplished this in my previous Windows installation (Windows 7 (64-bit)), using the same method as discussed in that tutorial with some value (which I can't recall). But somehow, I can't seem to make it happen in Windows 10.

    Some of the values I've tried are: 10, 52,54, 55, 58 and a few more.

    Please suggest a suitable value/method to make it happen in my Windows 10.
