  1. Screen is plugged in, but I can't find the mic or speakers

Hi,I have a HP E34m G4 screen with camera, mic and speakers and I'm using Windows 11. When I plug this in using the USB-C port my camera is found in device manager, but the speakers and mic is not found even when looking among hidden devices. Also when using zoom, google meet, teams my camera is working but the sound and mic is not working. I have downloaded and installed the newest drivers from HP and I've tried to do a factory reset of the monitor. I have also made sure I have all the newest updates of Windows, but the problem consists. Any advice for how to solve this? Thanks,Terry

    :)

Mic plugged in, no sound from speakers

My laptop has a port for a mic/headphone combination. When I plug in the mic, sound does not come from the speakers of my laptop. I can't find a way to prioritize the speakers over the headphones, since they are combined in the audio settings. Is there another way to do this without any addition hardware (e.g. splitter, bluetooth speakers/headphones)? Thanks!

Audio driver is RealTek HD Audio and I just updated it.

  3. Mic/Headphone ports not working correctly - Acer Aspire 7745

The speakers are 'plugged in' already as it is a laptop. With no external mic, headphones or external speakers plugged in, the Sound Control Panel lists three things under 'Playback' - HDMI, 'Speakers' and 'Realtek Digital Output' - the Speakers under 'Playback' is set as the default.

Under 'Recording' with no external mic plugged in these are listed - 'Microphone', 'Line In' and 'Stereo Mix' (Disabled) - the microphone (in this case, the internal one) is set to 'Default' under 'Recording' as well.

I don't have my headset here to test an external mic right now, but with normal external headphones plugged in, there is no change to the Sound Control Panel under 'Playback' - the same three listings (HDMI, 'Speakers' and 'Realtek Digital Output') with 'Speakers' set as the Default. If I make a noise, say, play a video, I can see the sound meters move to the sound, but no sound comes out of the headphones.

Mic plugged in, no sound from speakers

    That's true.
Inserting a jack into mic/headphone combo input, speakers cannot work because of mechanic disconnection.
As you've mentioned, you need a usb or bluetooth speakers or mic/headphone external device.
