Windows 10: Screen freeze while the PC under medium/high load but sound keeps working.

Hello,My screen keeps freezing under medium to high load. The sound still works and i can even hear people talking to me, but they cant hear me. After a 15 seconds the sound also stops and 15 seconds after my PC shuts down. I tried to solve it myself but i cant find what the actual issue is. I have looked at the event viewer and the only thing that is consistent is the event in the screenshot. It happens right before or minutes before the shutdown.I have tried the following:Update windowsUpdate driversDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealthDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealthDISM /Online /

Friends computer freezing at windows loading screen

Ok my friend is having problems with his computer right now. Basically it crashed on the windows loading screen. This is what he told me on MSN.

Now i'm not too sure what the problem is. I suggested doing a repair install with the xp disk (i'll be giving him that tomorrow) but in the mean time do any of you have any ideas?

 

Work PC freezes while loading Windows

Nearly every morning when we switch on the main work pc, it freezes before loading Windows. Occasionally some mornings it doesn't do it. Other times, we have to power it on and off some 5 times before it decides to work properly! This has been going on for weeks now.

Usually it freezes on the password screen, either before or after inputting the password.

Once Windows loads, the computer works perfectly. It even crunches all the time at 100%.

I've tried several things now:

- memtest
- scanning for viruses (including with malwarebytes).
- repair using the Win 7 disk.
- sfc /scannow which found everything ok.
- ccleaner.
- the full version of Registry Mechanic.

(I wouldn't want to do a fresh Win 7 install because then we'd have to re-install the accounting software as well and it'll be expensive since for security reasons the seller doesn't distribute diskettes and passwords..*Roll Eyes )

PC freezes at HP load screen

Thanks for the quick response. I attempted to boot windows from the USB, however, it continued to freeze at the logo screen. So, with the USB in the computer, I did another hard reboot. While the laptop was turning on, I held F2 until a setup screen loaded. I tested the PC and then exited the setup. Upon exiting the setup and with the USB still in the port, the PC was able to load past the logo screen. It then performed it diagnostic test, repair and updates. I was finally then able to make it to the windows screen.

This appears to be dumb luck more than helpful series of steps for anyone with a similar problem. I am not sure if having the USB in the PC was relevant or if testing the PC in the F2 setup screen had any impact, but that is what ended up working.
