Windows 10: Samsung migration stuck at 99%, cloning is slow

So i got a new 990 PRO NVMe and a 840 EVO SSD for my HP envy to upgrade from a bone old 1tb HDD from 2016. Its slow and not really useful for my mother. Though these are my problems:1. On the first try, it took about 2 days being stuck 99% with very little progress done. It says 0 MB/s but it takes 30 to an hour to upload one file, and theres about 500. Tho this happens when its stuck at 99%2. On the 2nd try, since the first try had an unknown error, i tried again, but this time, it was quicker to clone the files to my SSD than the first try. But then it got stuck at 99% making very little pro

Hi,

Current computer is a Dell Inspiron with intel core i7 Windows 10. It has a 1 TB hard drive with 16 GB ram.

I'm trying to Clone my current HDD to my new SSD Samsung 860 EVO, but it gets stuck at 99% and I keep on getting an error code of:

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library

Debug Assertion Failed!

Program: ...Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung Data Migration\Data Migration.exe

File: f:\dd\vctools\crt\bld\self_x86\crt\src\dbgheap.c

Samsung data migration software clone

​Cloning to my new samsung 860 EVO using their software, for one of my 5 PC's
Seems very easy. software is saying about ah hour to finish.
My spinner drive has gotten slow to the point of why put up with it anymore.
Running latest oct update 2020 win 10 2H2O 2OH2 or whatever H2O2, O2H2 2O2H arghh!!!

It is not as fast as an NVME, this is a cheap upgrade today using a 500gb drive
