Windows 10: Ryzen AMD 7, 2700U not supported on windows 11

Like many, I was pissed to find that windows 10 is only supported up until 2025. My laptop passes all the requirements except for the processor. While supporting secure boot, TPM and my system storage is 128GB when the minimum requirement is 64GB, and my system memory is 8GB and the min requirement is 4GB. And i have 4 core processors. My computer was purchased about 3 years ago and cost around £800 It is an Envy X 360 Convertible 15-CP0, Ryzen AMD 7, 2700U with Radeon vaga mobile GFX 2.20 GHz. On the list of supposedly supported. it says it would support supports intel i5-7200U processors.

Is the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF will be officialy supported in Windows 11?

Dear Microsoft Community,

I would like to buy AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF but I must have 100% sure if it will be working in Windows 11 without any issues. I must know if it will be offcialy supported by Microsoft? Why? Because I want to buy new computer and Windows 11 operating system. I will be not use Windows 10 so it is important for me.

On above list I can't see Ryzen 5 1600 AF but like we know this CPU is similar to Ryzen 5 2600. It have this same architecture Zen+. I also found on the internet on reddit that some guys wrote that they checked compatibility with Windows 11 by PC Health Check application from Microsoft and they told that their machines with Ryzen 5 1600 AF was accepted like compatible with Windows 11.

I want to have answer from Microsoft official engineers. I don't want waste my money for old hardware. I must know if this Ryzen processor will be work in Windows 11.

Will windows 11 ever be supported on AMD Ryzen 2500u?

Will windows 11 ever be available to a laptop having AMD Ryzen 2500u Processor, as of Jan'22, it is not supported on the said processor, is there any possibility of its availability in the future?

The minimum requirements for Windows 11 is at least 8th Gen processors. The processor you are using which is AMD Ryzen 5 2500U is not included in the list of supported processors.

You can stay in Windows 10 it is still supported until year 2025, by that time you will have a new computer already.

However if you want to update your device to Windows 11, you can reach out to your manufacturer and have them check what is the compatible processor for your device for processor replacement to update to Windows 11.
