Roblox mouse cursor doesn't stay in place

Mouse cursor doesn't stay in place. It keeps jumping far when I unclick the mouse. I tried to follow the troubleshoot on changing mouse, repair & reset Roblox app. Uninstall & install Roblox, etc but it still didn't fix the issue. I used the same mouse with my mac and I didn't have a problem.

  2. Cursor goes off Roblox.

Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

To address the Roblox cursor going off-screen, especially in first-person mode, follow these steps:

    1. Adjust Display Settings

    • Right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings.
    • Ensure that the Scale and Layout options are set to their recommended values. This includes both the scale and display resolution settings.
    2. Troubleshoot Microsoft Store Apps

    • Open Windows Settings and navigate to System > Troubleshoot.
    • Select Other troubleshooters and run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter. This will check for issues related to the Microsoft Store version of Roblox and suggest fixes.
    3. Reset Roblox App

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
    • Find Roblox, click on the burger menu (three dots), and select Advanced options.
    • Scroll down and click on Reset. This will clear the application cache and reset the app as if it was newly installed from the Microsoft Store].
    4. Update Graphics Drivers

    • Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause cursor issues in games.
    5. Reset Windows Store Cache

    • Press Windows Key + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter. This will reset the Windows Store cache, which might resolve the issue.
    6. Check for System Updates

    • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates can fix underlying issues that cause cursor problems.
    7. Try Running the Game in Fullscreen Mode

    • Press F11 when in-game to run the game in fullscreen mode.
Please do let me know if the method I suggested works for you or if you need further assistance.

Mouse cursor not locking in place in game.

    Description:

I've been having a weird problem lately in the latest Windows 11 Insider Builds. The mouse cursor would not lock in place in games such as: Subnautica, Raft, Phasmophobia, and Roblox. The example I provided below is a video of me using Roblox's caps lock feature and zooming in to first person. When doing such, the cursor just moves around without being locked in place. It has been a problem for games that solely focuses on the first person point of view. I have two monitors, and the cursor often would go into the second monitor quite often.

    Attempted commands / programs:

    - Checked display settings to ensure that everything is configured correctly. (1920x1080 @ 60Hz)

    - DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    - DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    - SFC /scannow

    Example:

    Current system build:

    - System build: Windows 11 Insider Preview 25193.1000 22H2

    - System model: HP Laptop 14-dq1xxx

    - System version: 10.0.25193 Build 25193

  4. Roblox mouse cursor doesn't stay in place

    Microsoft store Roblox mouse glitch

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

The mouse lag issue you're experiencing with Roblox on your Windows gaming laptop can be caused by various factors. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

    1. Update Graphics Drivers:
      • Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can lead to performance issues. Visit the website of your laptop's GPU manufacturer (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) and download the latest drivers. Install them and restart your laptop.
    2. Update Roblox:
      • Ensure you have the latest version of Roblox installed from the Microsoft Store. Sometimes, updating the game can resolve performance issues.
    3. Adjust Roblox Settings:
      • Within the Roblox game, adjust the graphics settings to lower levels. Lowering settings like graphics quality, texture quality, and rendering distance can improve performance.
    4. Check Mouse Settings:
      • Ensure your mouse settings are configured correctly in Windows. Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Mouse" and check the mouse sensitivity and other settings.
    5. Check for Background Processes:
      • Make sure there are no background processes or applications consuming too much CPU or memory while playing Roblox. Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to monitor and close unnecessary processes.
    6. Disable V-Sync:
      • In some cases, disabling V-Sync (vertical sync) within the Roblox settings can improve mouse responsiveness. Experiment with turning V-Sync on and off to see if it makes a difference.
    7. Check for System Resource Issues:
      • Ensure your laptop is not overheating, as overheating can lead to performance problems. Clean the laptop's cooling system and make sure it's running efficiently.
    8. Try a Different Mouse:
      • Test the game with a different external mouse to rule out any hardware-related issues with your current mouse.
    9. Check for Other Software Conflicts:
      • Some third-party software or utilities running in the background can interfere with game performance. Try closing background applications one by one to identify any conflicts.
    10. Reinstall Roblox:
      • If the issue persists, you may want to uninstall Roblox from the Microsoft Store and then reinstall it. This can sometimes resolve software-related problems.
Remember to test your mouse with other applications to ensure that the issue is specific to Roblox and not a general problem with your mouse or system. Additionally, keep your operating system and all drivers up to date to ensure optimal compatibility with games and software.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates. Thanks.

    Best regards
