    Reset Windows 10

    Hello AyeYo,

This tutorial is to reset Windows.

Selecting that would be to refresh Windows instead. *Wink

You rock *Smile I've somehow missed that at search. Now I see why, it's outdated *Smile
Still, you are well aware how many google hits you receive. People will just do the first thing blindly. And cry about how much 10 sucks from their android phone, 'cause the PC is unusable. Or call a friend (me). *Devil

I agree. People should always read before doing something to make sure they understand it.

Hello Kortni, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

That is definitely a lot longer that normal. However, it can depend on your system specs and how many issues your PC had before starting.

As long as you have hard drive activity, then it's usually best to let it sit until finished though.

    Hey Brink,

I have Windows 10 (upgraded from 7) on my HP.. I tried to reset pc from settings and recovery, and even thru advanced startup, however when I hit reset, the laptop reboots and HP recovery manager starts up with the options of system restore, system recovery and minimized image recovery.. Why is that and what would you suggest? Thank you.

    Reset Windows 10

Oh ok thanks! And one more thing, if I do a true clean install from a USB, will it guarantee that my windows 10 will stay activated or is resetting pc a safer option?

You could use either option and still have Windows 10 activated afterwards. *Smile

I wanted to reset my Windows 10 and clean all the data from my hard-drive. I did everything for it as it is written above. However, when it reached 100%, the laptop restarted itself...and "blue screen". It restarted again, and " blue screen" again appeared. And it was several times, and every time all the time the same with "blue screen". I don't know what to do. Please, help me with it.

I updated from Windows 8 into 8.1. And that month I updated to 10. It is Ukrainian and licensed.

A clean install would do that as well.

    Hey,
I was careless, and I got some viruses, and add-on in my laptop. So I want to delete all the installed programs in :C ; so using fully clean the hard drive (C) is correct?. But if I do that, I wonder if it delete my 3 others disk drive (D, E, F)? I want to keep my files in 3 disk drive. Thanks.
