  1. regaining access of a folder owned by System

    Hi

One of my family members has installed Your Phone on my pc in order to remotely control my pc. I believe they are using it to remotely copy teamviewer or equivulent on my pc. Despite trying to uninstall it it's still on my pc and they have manually locked me out of the folder where it's installed by assigning the owner as System.

I can't seem to change the ownership to Adminsitrators group.

How do I regain control over my property ?

I find it sad and aggravating I can't trust my own family.

    :)

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

Took control of a folder in Vista and now I can't access them in XP

How do I regain access of these folders in XP? Basically, my pictures and music folder. XP doesn't give me an option to take control of those folders..

Have no permissions in my own folders Windows 10

    Hello,

    Thank you contacting Microsoft Community.

As I have understood, you are experiencing issue with no permissions in my own folders and getting message: “Destination folder access denied, you need permission to perform this action” on the system.

    I certainly understand your concern.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

    • Go to file explorer C:\Users and right click on your username.
    • Then select properties.
    • Then select Security.
    • Then select Advanced.
    • Then click enable Inheritance.
    • It will take a minute to alter all the changes.

Once it finishes, check if it fixes the issue.

I hope this information is helpful.

Please do let us know if you need any further assistance, we will be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
