Windows 10: red discc covers the camera lens of my lenovo ideapad 1

i have a lenovo ideapad 1. a red disc covers the camera lens. i've reinstalled the driver, checked privacy settings all can use it pressed on the camera and on both sides of it to no avail - that disc is still there and the camera is not working. any ideas? thanks

Lenovo Y510P (Unsupported for Win 10) Camera Driver Needed


Hello and welcome ksuthayya have had a look for a driver for your machine but there are only drivers listed up to 8.1 not 10.

Having said that my old Toshiba was in the same position and yet when I installed 10 Windows updates found drivers for stuff not listed on the Toshiba site.

Now a suggestion would be to get a clip on camera and install it via USB or like wise because it would have it owns driver. If my memory serves me right they are not that expensive - but still annoying eh?.

I think you got two options leave the lens cover off wait till your battery level is down to one bar and then use your camera which will save it from further scratches or get the lens cover replaced have full function of the camera and risk further lens
scratch. Isn't the N97 a great phone??

it was not until recent when it struck to me how bad my lens was damaged because of the slider, has anyone got thier camera cover/lens replaced?
