Windows 10: Recovery with a USB flash stick-Windows 11

How does doing a recovery with a USB flash stick work? The laptop is 512 SSD-latitude.How much of a USB flash stick will do it and how do you do it with the flash stick?I want to get a recovery done but am not a tech, and do not work with computers that much.Thank you for you time. Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

 

How to reformat USB Recovery Drive

Thanks again for helping. Yes, I've found and tried those instructions prior to posting. Nothing seems to work. It is ridiculous that Windows basically trashes a perfectly good USB stick when it creates a recovery disk. Their should be a way to clear it off so you can use it again but I guess not. Probably going to just give up and toss it....they are cheap enough these days.

 

USB Stick Recovery

The stick is dead, toss it and buy a new one. There is no point in putting this much effort into a 16GB USB stick. Even if you get it working, can you really trust it again? I wouldn't. 16GB USB3.0 Flash drives are like $6...
